Privacy Policy

Account information.When you create an account — with an email and password, or by continuing with Google — we store your name and email address. If you sign up with email and password, we store a securely hashed version of your password; we never store or have access to the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we don’t receive or store your Google password.

Caterer profile information. If you list a catering business, we store what you provide for your public listing: business name, description, service areas, guest count range, price range, halal certification details, contact email and phone, and photos.

Booking information. If you request a booking, we store the event details you provide — event type, date, guest count, town, budget range, and any notes — along with a phone number if you choose to add one, so an accepted caterer can reach you.

Push notification tokens.If you enable notifications in the app, we store a device token used to deliver booking and status updates. This token doesn’t identify you beyond your own account and isn’t used for advertising.

We don’t use analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and we don’t collect your device’s location.

A caterer’s published listing (business details, service areas, photos) is public and visible to anyone browsing Mawaid. A buyer’s booking details and contact information are shared only with the specific caterer that booking was sent to, once that caterer accepts the request.

We use a small number of service providers to run Mawaid, who process information on our behalf: Google (sign-in), Apple and Firebase (push notification delivery), Vercel (application hosting), and Supabase (database hosting). We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.
